Affiliate Disclosure
This page explains, in plain terms, where the money comes from. Every walk listed here belongs to an independent local guide who publishes it on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and every reservation happens on the platform, never here. The site takes no booking fee and operates nothing. What follows sets out the single revenue stream and what it cannot buy.
Where Money Comes From
The income is affiliate commission, and it comes from one source: the walking tours. When a visitor reserves a free spot on a guide's GuruWalk page or on a freetour.com walk through a link here, the platform pays this site a commission. The visitor pays nothing extra for it. Every walk is free, pay what you want, and the tip goes to the guide.
Commission is the only income this site has. A tour appears because it is published on GuruWalk or freetour.com and can be reserved there.
Nothing on this site costs the visitor a booking fee, a service charge or a subscription. Reserving a walk means claiming a free spot on the guide's own page on GuruWalk or on freetour.com, and the walk itself is free, pay what you want. The commission, when one is earned, is paid by the platform to this site. It is not added to anything the visitor hands over.
What This Site Sells, And What It Doesn't
This site runs no tour, employs no guide and takes no payment from any visitor. Each walk belongs to an independent local guide and is published on GuruWalk or freetour.com, free to reserve, with the contribution decided by the walker at the end. When a reservation comes through a link here, the platform may pay this site a commission. That commission changes nothing for the walker, because free, pay what you want is the price of every walk listed.
The rest of the site follows the same rule. A museum's free day is stated only when the museum itself sets one, and the condition always travels with the claim. Ticketed attractions are called ticketed.
What Money Cannot Buy Here
- Every rating shown belongs to GuruWalk or freetour.com, each printed on its own scale.
- Review counts are copied exactly as GuruWalk and freetour.com publish them, never rounded up or trimmed.
- A sight that is free only under conditions is never called simply free, and a sight whose status is unclear is never described as free at all.
The Origin Of Every Number
A rating on this site is never an editorial score. It is the number the walk's own platform publishes, copied as it stands. GuruWalk listings rate out of 5 and freetour.com listings rate out of 10, and the two are never converted or blended, because a score out of 10 squeezed onto a five-point scale would misrepresent it. Each figure travels with its scale named.
Entry rules get the same treatment. The Real Alcázar is ticketed with conditions on that ticket. The Archivo General de Indias is free for all.
Nothing Here Depends On This Site
Every free thing described here is free whether or not this site exists. The site points at these places. It does not price them, run them or gate them.
The walks work the same way. Every free tour named here is reserved on GuruWalk or freetour.com, and a visitor can book straight through either platform without ever touching this site. Take the links away and the guides still run their walks, the Plaza de España still charges nothing, and the Archivo General de Indias still opens its doors to everyone. This site simply gathers what is already there.
